Get involved in the hands-on process by helping to prepare the apples; grinding them, turning the old-fashioned press, and collecting the cider. This engaging experience is topped off with a delicious sample of fresh, homemade cider! You will also learn some amazing facts about the apple’s place in history and in the natural world.

This December marks the 23rd annual Gingerbread Wonderland. Guests, young and old, marvel at the creativity, skill, and sense of optimism that characterizes this charming exhibit of over 200 edible structures. Past year’s gingerbread creations have included models of Notre Dame Cathedral, Hanukah menorahs, Japanese temples, Chinese pagodas, European castles, and neighborhood sweet shops. Experience holiday life during the Civil War both on the home front and at a soldier’s winter encampment. The 2nd NJ Brigade soldiers prepare for a holiday away from home in authentically reproduced huts. Enjoy a Civil War era Officer’s Ball with period music, costumes, and dance. On the home front at the historic Vail home, listen to families read actual letters from Union troops, ad see how a home was decorated. Shop for unique gifts, stocking stuffers, and holiday ornaments.

Looking for something fresh and exciting to do this Friday Night? Then come to Mennen Sports Arena and skate the night away! DJ Earl will be playing the newest hits and some of your favorite throw-backs under the psychedelic lights. Want to hear something special? Requests are always welcome. Gather your friends and meet on the ice every Friday night for skating, arcade games, and yummy treats from the snack bar.

Teachers: Take advantage of our many excellent field trips that are close at hand and offer a wealth of educational experiences at affordable prices. Our lesson topics and objectives are closely correlated to the NJ Core Curriculum Standards as well as the most commonly taught science and social studies topics in local schools. Our programs include hands-on activities, pre- and post- trip lessons, and take home follow-up activities. Professional development courses are also available.
