2008 Junior Clinics

Once again, we will offer both a player development and intermediate junior clinics.

The player development and intermediate registration forms can be filled out on-line, printed, signed and mailed with payment.
(Scripted applications are fillable on-line. With scripting turned off, pdf player development and intermediate forms can be printed and filled out by hand.)

General Information

  • For junior golfers ages 10 - 17. Age is determined as of July 1, 2008.
  • A copy of a birth certificate must be enclosed with application for all attendees 10 and 11 years old.
  • Must have their own golf equipment for each session
  • Pull carts will be provided at no charge however supply is limited.
  • Wear shorts or pants with pockets and sneakers or golf shoes
  • Repeat attendees will be allowed only if space is available

  • Monday: Introduction / Film / Putting / Score Keeping / Etiquette / Rules
  • Tuesday: Film / Chipping / Pitching / Score Keeping / Etiquette / Rules
  • Wednesday: The Golf Zone*

Selection Process for Beginner's Clinic
Applications for the Junior Clinic will be accepted by mail or in person. All applications must be received by 4 p.m. on June 1. To be considered, all applications must be accompanied by a check and, where applicable, a copy of the applicant’s birth certificate. The MCPC Golf staff is not responsible for mailed applications that do not arrive in time for the lottery drawing.

Due to the overwhelming popularity of this program, clinic admission is limited to new participants only.


A lottery drawing will be held at 5 p.m. on June 1 at Flanders Valley Golf Course. Only 55 applications will be selected. Applicants need not be present to be selected.

The fee is $200.00 for Morris County residents and $400.00 for non-residents.

Based on end of clinic progress, our professionals will determine if your son/daughter has achieved a level of knowledge sufficient for play on Morris County Park Commission golf courses.

Intermediate Clinic
Participants must meet at least three (3) of the following criteria:
  • Playing for at least three (3) seasons under parental supervision, and can verify the information provided.
  • Played at least 12 times on 9 holes and can verify the information provided.
  • Has a history of taking private or group lessons and can verify the information provided.
  • Has a handicap index and can provide a copy of the card at registration.
  • Has been evaluted by an LPGA or PGA professional and has passed the evalution successfully.
Group A (no make-up dates are available)
Monday July 14, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Berkshire Valley
Tuesday July 15, 8 a.m. to noon, Pinch Brook
Tuesday July 22, 8 a.m. to noon, Flanders Valley

Group B (no make-up dates are available)
Monday July 28, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Instruction day at Berkshire Valley
Tuesday July 29, 8 a.m. to noon, Pinch Brook
Tuesday August 5, 8 a.m. to noon, Flanders Valley
Players should bring a snack, drink, bug spray and sun block with them to each session.

Make-ups from one session to the other will not be allowed.

Space is limited. Sign up early!
